The Greek Myths are reborn, reincarnated into the modern world and
bound to set chaos on mind-shattering levels. The Gods and Goddesses, the Titans
and even the beasts of old have reawoken in the modern age and only time will
prove that this will not be a good thing.

lysandra marie neoma!
lyssa or lys/katie is joining us from seattle, washington. this twenty seven year old is going to celebrate her next birthday on october thirty first. she's usually very methodical, tender hearted, yet surprising cold and is really quite good at necromancy. their problem is with sharing her body with lys. tsk tsk. welcome to OF MYTH AND MEN, hun.
full name: lysandra marie neoma (hecate) celeb face: najarra townsend member group: deity age: twenty seven likes: dogs, ghosts, death, caves, and fire dislikes: the witch trials of old, being belittled, being called crazy, people messing with her pets, and having to share a body
personality:
Lysandra had always been weak in spirit, ironically enough. How she had ended up being the carrier of Hecate is probably a wonder. She was always quiet and shy, never liking the way people looked at her. She thought of herself as someone who people frowned upon simply because of her religious views. Though she was often quiet, she was very open about her beliefs. Maybe it was her love for witchcraft and the studying of darker arts that made her a suitable host. She would much rather spend her time in darkness, reading by candle-light than going out and actually socializing with those she felt discriminated against her. When she did speak, though, she was often honest and true in her words, not liking to lie for it was nearly impossible for the girl to do. She stutters like a fool when she lies and, therefore, would rather be truthful than to get caught in her ill-shapened lies.
But Lysandra is rarely seen, more so just a voice that sometimes commented in the back of Hecate's head. Hecate herself is often annoyed by listening to Lysandra's pathetic whimpering. She would much rather deal with being bossed around by Hades than listen to her human host anyday. She has practiced the art of ignoring quite a bit in the last year since she was awakened. After all, she would rather ignore the girl than actually talk back, though sometimes she indulges her and gives her moments of control, or just little insights on how witchcraft truly worked. Hecate is actually quite tender-hearted when it comes to the young and especially adores animals just as dogs and polecats. She is very observant and a good listener, having been the messanger for the underworld. She craves the night and adores darkness for it was in darkness that ghosts and spirits did thrive. Her affinity with ghosts comes from her skills in necromancy. It was probably something that helped quite a bit since she had been the aide du comp to Hades himself once upon a time. She feels that, since this is a new time, maybe she won't have to serve him again, though a part of her knows that, when the time did come, she would likely have to return. She is often thinking and plotting, though for no real reasons. She just likes to come up with new ideas and possibly even knew spells of sorts, being the goddess who governed over witchcraft. She is often rather gratefully for what she does have and very generous in the giving to those she likes. But with all these sides to her that are kind and good, there is also her dark half, a side that seems to get the better of her at times. She is very wicked and has a slight thirst for blood she often tries to ignore. To those who try to bring harm to her, she will show no mercy and would just as swiftly kill someone as she would help them. She likes her quiet, though, often spending it in caves. She can see everything from her gaves, as long as she wills it, so why stay in her house. Well, Lysandra's house.
history:
Lysandra's beginnings were none too sweet. She was born and raised in the richer parts of Seattle, growing up in a rather decent mansion. She had parents, like any other kid, who worked diligantly to keep up their income, as if either of them needed it. Both sides of her family came from money. So how could her life have been such a hell, you may ask? Well, with the arrival of the baby girl, the only child of the Neoma family, her parents didn't know what to do. All they knew was work, work, sex, and more work. A child didn't really seem to find it's way into their day to day ritual. So, they often ignored her, hiring others to watch for the girl and do all the things parents ought to do. Though I suppose that doesn't really seem all that bad either. Most kids would rather not be involved in their parents lives, but to Lys, it showed their lack of caring. They had to be reminded when her birthday was or when things would happen, and half the time didn't even remember her name. What kind of parents doesn't remember her own childs name? It was a depressing remind that they didn't love her, that she was just a waste of space to them, no matter how much she tried to get their attention growing up. As she grew old, her nannies grew meaner, stricter. And though she tried her best to do everything they asked for, she was always punished for getting the littlest of things wrong. Those punishments often coming in the form of a ruler to her knickles or a paddle to her rear.
As soon as she was old enough, her parents sent her away to boarding school so that they wouldn't have to deal with her. They never wrote, never called, never visited. For five straight years, she spent her time on the campus, delving deeper into the studies of paganism that she had secretly started up years ago. She was often without a roommate in her dorms, which she didn't mind. Most people at the school disliked her. Said that she was a monster, pathetic, a waste of space, no one could ever love her. So many things all based on how she held herself and her religious beliefs. She stayed quiet during school, never making friends, nor ever putting the effort into it. She'd rather shy away from social contact and study than be apart of the social cliques.
She was glad to graduate and move back home, though when she got there, she was greeted with a depressing surprise. Her parents had died, killed in a tragic car accident a few months prior. She hadn't a clue about any of it and, though she knew she should mourn, she couldn't find it in her to really notice much of a different. She had inherited the house, though, along with all the money and all their bonds and shares. She was well set, though still, she felt as though she wasn't really worth much. Life had led her down a road that made her feel unwanted, useless. Though she wanted to go to college, a nearby witchshop was hiring and she decided to work there. It gave her the chance to study more and to ask questions.
She worked there for years. And, ironically enough, the goddess she held highest had been Hecate herself. Her prayers had always been sent to her, her heart always belonged to her. To think that, a few short months after her twenty sixth birthday, she was actually the vessel to the goddess she cherished most, the girl had been full of excitement and delight. For the first time she had meant something. But fate was a heartless bitch and, soon after her awakening, the goddess within took complete control. She kept Lys's mediocre job at the witch store though most nights, she didn't return home. Instead, she wandered into the forests and found a small cave to stay in. It was comfortable there, a place that she felt most connected to. She has been working with her powers, slowly letting them grow. She anticipates what was instore for this new world and honestly couldn't wait to see what lay ahead for her.
