The Greek Myths are reborn, reincarnated into the modern world and
bound to set chaos on mind-shattering levels. The Gods and Goddesses, the Titans
and even the beasts of old have reawoken in the modern age and only time will
prove that this will not be a good thing.

Meg never once struggled with her divine counterpart. In fact, it seemed the two were slowly becoming one. It seemed even before the Deity awoke in the young girls mortal body that they were practically the same. Only Eris had power. This was something that Meg had always craved and the moment she realized that allowing her inner deity to take control provided that thrill she was more than happy to step aside for her. They felt the same things, experienced the same things. It seemed as the days went on the two were practically the same person but Meg was a little more reserved. The fear of mortality still stirred in her. Eris on the other hand couldn't care less. It would seem that Eris and Meg were almost fully merged. The only time that Eris would allow for her mortal host to take the "wheel" was in regards to technology of the age. There were a lot of things the old soul didn't understand but Meg, being the mortal she was, that had grown up around computers and understood it very well.
As Meg made her way down the street she looked into the bars with a curious fascination. Although she preferred her mortal name, Eris was fully in control. Going by Eris could give her little games away and that was the last thing that the immortal soul wanted. She enjoyed having her fun and hated anyone that wanted to stand in the way of that. I wonder were Amanda is. "Don't worry about her, she will show up sooner or later. She always does. Now sit back and enjoy the ride dear." Eris whispered to her mortal host. As she continued to walk past drunken tourist and locals her eyes scanned the area for any signs of a fight. A few drinks could always make aggression worse and that was one of the things she loved about the mortal drink. So far unfortunately for her everything was rather peaceful. The night was still young, surely she could stir up some trouble for that day. Something to stratify her trust for mischief. "If only Loki was real..." Meg mused with a gentle laugh. She had enjoyed the latest superhero movie but it was a shame that she didn't have her prince of mischief just yet.
ooc- this kind of sucks but hopefully someone can work with it!

New Orleans was still recovering from the devastation of hurricane Katrina. While most of the world had lost interest in New Orleans, had assumed that they were back to normal, they were dead wrong. For the last week Norah had been in New Orleans working with the Red Cross to help improve the lives of the large homeless population. In addition to working with the Red Cross, while in New Orleans Norah had discovered a small group of people who worked to lower the rated of HIV and AIDS infections in the city by offering drug addicts clean hypodermic needles.
This evening Norah was working for the later organization, the backpack on her back filled with needles, gauze and sterilizing alcohol. Despite the good that she was doing, handing out drug paraphernalia to drug addicts was illegal. She was taking a very large risk by working with this organization which she had been iffy about at first, but Achlys had persuaded and pushed her into it. While Norah and her inner deity usually got along, her charity work was something that upset Achlys. As a Goddess of misery and sadness she didn't like the fact that Norah's work tended to inspire happiness. Giving away clean needles to junkies, however, seemed to please both of them. Norah had the satisfaction of helping to keep people healthy, while Achlys loved the fact that many of these drug addicts were completely ruining their lives and stank of misery.
Walking down the street, Norah was a bit nervous but at the same time didn't really care what happened to her. Of course getting arrested would be a set back, but since she was currently suffering from a wave of depression she didn't really care much about what happened to her. Achlys had been rather talkative this week, seeming to take more and more control over Norah's activities, and Norah had been beginning to notice that when Achlys was in control for too long she tended to sink into dark depressions. 'A little bit of sadness is good for you, helps you to not care so much,' Achlys whispered in her mind, reading Norah's thoughts which she had an annoying tendency of doing. As Norah opened her mouth to reprimand Achlys, planning on telling her to mind her own business, she heard another whisper in her mind. 'Oh, well isn't that interesting...'
Achlys then took control over Norah's body, something that was extremely uncomfortable, but also something that Achlys didn't do often which was why Norah was a surprised. "What's the big deal?"Norah hissed under her breath, unable to do much as Achyls steered her in the direction of a young lady walking down the sidewalk. 'You'll find out soon enough,' Achyls whispered, the unnerving sound of her laughter echoing in Norah's head as Achlys forced Norah's hand up into the air and gently pushed the shoulder of the girl in front of her. "Oh, so sorry!" She exclaimed, regaining control over her body and holding her hands up in an apologetic fashion. The last thing she wanted to do was draw attention to herself when she had a bag filled with hypodermic needles on her back.

She was starting to enjoy herself. The sounds and smells were all somewhat new to her now. Ever since Meg began to give more control over and the two were practically becoming one. They both experienced the world differently. It felt good to be awake after all these years. There were of course some draw backs. She had only been awake for a year and during that year she had only managed to get back some of her powers. Being the goddess she was, there were some major control issues and Eris was very eager to get all of her powers back. She even tried tracking down Zeus himself to ask what the big deal was but was unsure that many of the other gods and goddess were even awake. It would be interesting to see who all was aware of themselves. She especially was looking forward to seeing that little ball of joy Hermes. Just as she was drifting into thought about things. A familiar presence was felt before a tiny push followed.
Meg narrowed her eyes. The mortal whose body Eris had control over didn't even get to have a say in things before she reached out and grabbed the shirt collar of the women in front of her. "Is there a problem?" she asked sweetly. Some how as sweet as the question sounded, there seemed to be something sinister about it. She gave a bit of a twisted smile before throwing her with some unnatural force away from her. That wasn't really needed was it? Meg could not believe what was taking place. "Now, now..." The goddess whispered. She watched the young women before her fro a minute. She was waiting for some kind of reaction. There was no use trying to stir up something that couldn't be stirred. She was attempt regardless, even if it proved to be a painstaking effort. "Are you always this touchy feely, or did you just decide to touch me because I am that good looking?" She looked down at the young women with another smile. There was no telling where things would go from here.

Before Norah had a chance to react the other girl had latched onto the collar of her shirt and violently shoved her back. Rather than worry about herself her first thought was to protect the fragile needles in her bag, twisting her body so that she landed on the ground on her hands and knees rather than falling backward onto the backpack. On her hands and knees she took a deep breath, trying to compose herself and figure out what in the world had just happened. Working with the unfortunate she was used to bust of anger and sometimes violent behavior, but she never had really experience anything violent personally like this until now. She was a teenager from a small town in Vermont, she didn't really know how to react to violence.
Still taking deep, calming breaths, Norah slowly and carefully brought herself back up to a standing position, holding up her hands again to show that she didn't mean any harm. Perhaps she had just frightened the girl, after all it was late at night in a city that had an alarmingly high rate of crime. 'Are you always this touchy feely, or did you just decide to touch me because I am that good looking?' Just as Norah was trying to formulate a response to that she felt the familiar presence of Achlys flutter back into her mind. 'Well, I must say, I didn't anticipate that,' she whispered, surprising Norah with the amount of amusment that was behind those words. Norah didn't really think this was a funny situation.
Achlys took control, moving Norah a few steps forward and closing the distance between herself and the other girl. Norah, for once, welcomed the take over since she really had no idea what to do. She trusted that Achlys would keep her safe, despite the differences they sometimes had, so Norah gave herself completely over to Achlys' control, for the moment at least. "Eris... you aren't the only one with a few tricks," Achlys whispered, and at her words the darkness around the two seemed to become more completely, blocking out the light from the street lamps and the moon in the sky. In the darkness Achlys smiled, her teeth seeming unnaturally white given the extremely dark surrounds. "It's been awhile, sister," she said, causing Norah to becoming really confused. 'Sister, what in the world....' Norah thought, causing Achlys to laugh, which sounding much more like a cackle.
ooc; hope you don't mind that i'm going with the mythology that achlys and eris are both daughters of nyx.
